High quality graphic symbols and text for interior automotive buttons can be created using laser-etchable paints when one or more layers are removed by a laser beam. With the laser, reproducible graphics can be created at a high rate of speed and easily modified. This process is comparable in cost to the conventional two-shot mold and applique methods and offers the automotive engineer increased design flexibility.
