There are five prototype methods which were used in the development of duplicate plastic parts which produced various benefits. The time of completion for these duplicate parts varied from one week to eight weeks, while the material varied from non production to production material. These methods created benefits such as the elimination of program tooling, early environmental testing, early fit-n-finish, early part visibility, and possible elimination of production tool revision.
