Demonstration of design adequacy under a set of Quasi-Static Loads or on a centrifuge. An attractive alternative when these methods are undesirable, is to perform the test using a digitally controlled shaker, particularly if a vibration test is also to be performed. This paper describes the synthesis of a transient waveform which, through time-compression or expansion, will achieve the desired accelerations on the test article, even if these are non-uniform.The basic transient waveform is a single wavelet, the duration of which can be adjusted in order to “tune” the responses to desired values. The duration is varied by capture of the internal clock of the controller, as has been used in the past to simulate variable gunfire rates.Experimental results are included.
