The incessant search for lean manufacture processes become the Total Quality and Continuous Improvement tools a practice of any corporation who wants to have a competitive price without compromising quality. The manufacturing measurement system has become essential to the continuing improvement in shop floor. There is, within the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodology, a measuring tool, an indicator known in the international literature as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), which assesses the health of manufacturing, can be focused on production lines or in a global context, evaluating the manufacturing as a whole. This metric is based on availability-performance-quality triad. This paper presents a case study of the OEE management system implementation in an auto industry where the differential is the OEE metric management used by shop floor employee. The results enable the main focus on waste, thus supporting with Continuous Improvement events of the plant.
