The author presents statistics indicating that the safety record of general aviation is steadily improving. Innovations and design concepts incorporated into Cessna aircraft, such as improved landing gear, wider visibility, and safer cabin interiors, are discussed.The primary aim of manufacturers of general aviation aircraft is the development of a safer, more economical aircraft to operate.
