Although in existence for over 80 years, the spiral wound gasket is proving to be a new method of sealing automotive exhaust joints. Traditionally used in critical industrial applications, the characteristics of the spiral wound gasket have been adapted to meet the needs of the automotive exhaust joint in achieving compliance with OBDII requirements.
