Transition fuel and time are estimated for V/STOL strike and transport aircraft using various ‘jet lift’ systems. The transition techniques considered for VTOL are reasonably simple and can be extended to STOL overload cases. The corresponding transition times are short and the effect of this on transition time and fuel allowances is briefly discussed.
