This paper aims to present the methodology used in the European project HUMOS (Human Model for Safety) to generate human body meshes comprised between the 5th percentile female and the 95th percentile male from the 3D geometry of a complete human body in sitting position close to the 50th European percentile male morphology. This process is based on geometrical data acquisition performed on volunteers and on cadavers. Measurements concern external anthropometric dimensions (more than 50) but also internal ones (more than 400).Data have been analysed by statistical methods in order to establish relationships between external dimensions and internal ones. A scaling law for the prediction of internal organs dimensions from the external ones has been elaborated. The above data have been implemented in a scaling tool, which allows transforming the existing mesh into a personalised dimension. The software uses kriging methods to create the new meshes.Three meshes, the small female, the middle male and the tall male, have been generated to illustrate this methodology.
