A new continuous compression stress relaxation test method has been developed for evaluating elastomeric materials for sealing applications. During a test, the elastomer component is compressed at various strain levels under precise displacement control. The sealing force is recorded continuously at a finite time interval. The test can be performed over a large temperature range - 40°C
