The use of personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, boots, apron, slicker suits) have been used for many years to protect employees from toxic chemicals. The scientific development over the last few years has been established to assist employers in choosing the best available protective equipment to protect the employee. There are recommended guidelines to develop a program in the selection, use, and employee training of this equipment to meet the employer's needs for normal and everyday use. This paper does not address emergencies.
