This paper covers the development and future potential of fiberglass reinforced plastic tanks (semi-trailers generally) for transporting gasoline and other liquid products. The main design features of plastic tank structures are described, including the tests to be performed in order to obtain acceptance by the administrators of the Gasoline Handling Act of the Province of Ontario. Special emphasis is given to the outstanding safety features of the fiberglass reinforced plastic tank.
