A proposed method whereby a system using a coding of vibratory tactile stimuli as an aid in aircraft control is considered. By this method, pitch, roll, and yaw accelerations are automatically transmitted as tactile stimuli to a ground control operator who steers an aircraft in the air. The system is described and analyzed. The advantages of receiving a combination of tactual and visual data, and making corrections based on the resultant are explained.
