The paper describes the development status of currently produced injectors from Bosch for intermittently operating gasoline injection systems as well as new injector designs.Current production injectors from Bosch are of the needle type for multipoint injection (MPI) systems and of the ball-type valve for singlepoint injection (SPI) systems.Dynamic operating of MPI injectors has been increased by improved magnetic circuit and reduced weight of the valve. A new multi-hole injector has been developed which is insensitive to build up of deposits. Increased system pressure and flushed injectors will solve hot fuel handling problems which are caused by high underhood temperatures and high vapor pressure fuels.Details of design and test results will be described in the following paragraphs.
