This paper applies four-pole parameter theory to the problem of sound propagation in porous materials. The four-pole equations are derived for a single layer of porous material, as well as for (n) layers in tandem. The exact equivalent electrical circuit for a layer of porous material, as well as lumped parameter approximations, are given. Various applications of the theory are pointed out. This paper applies four-pole parameter theory to the problem of sound propagation in porous materials.
