This paper describes the reduction in observed unburned exhaust products when a spark ignition engine is operated with the I.F.P. process of variable mixture strength.The principle of the process is first explained; then the influence of the mixture strength on carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons in exhaust gases is shown.
