THIS PAPER DESCRIBES A SYSTEMATIC METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING MOBILITY SPECIFICATIONS on Military Tracked Vehicles. The shortcomings of conventional mobility specification requirements for the vehicle power train and suspension systems are discussed. Both analytical and empirical means for converting specification requirements into hardware terms and then into required vehicle subsystem performance are illustrated. Issues relating to cross country suspension system performance prediction are dealt with.
