Plastic Recycling is very limited though the volume of plastic substitution for metals continues to grow rapidly. Huge volumes of plastic wastes are now generated annually by the recycling industry and they are virtually all landfilled. “Design for Recycling” is presented as a needed concept--manufacturers should design for use only those materials that do not pose unnecessary recycling problems or which are not pre-destined for disposal only.
