The space station era is expected to require a significant increase in orbital servicing activities. Extravehicular activity (EVA), telerobotic, and combined EVA/telerobotic servicing tasks will be performed on a regular basis to satisfy maintenance and repair requirements. This paper describes a current program intended to develop advanced servicing tools and techniques for efficiently performing such on-orbit operations through a series of 1 g and 0 g simulations leading to a Shuttle flight experiment.
