The uses of ultrasonic motors for industrial processing are briefly presented, dividing such processing into continuous and intermittent types. The main emphasis is on a review of metalworking applications and studies. Government sponsored and industry sponsored areas are covered. The applications discussed include single-point tool machining, ultrasonic milling, broaching, lapping and honing, metal forming, and joining.
