The use of analysis of variance to extract information on several factors in the same experiment is described. By using analysis of variance, one can determine if wrong factors are being studied and whether major contributors are taken into consideration in the basic design. The technique whereby analysis of variance may be used for statistical inference is outlined and two worked examples are presented.
