CAD/CAM/CAE can be used to expedite the concept to production cycle for any product. Besides the basic 3D design and NC machining capabilities of an integrated CAD/CAM system, special analysis programs are available to analyze plastic flow in either parts or molds. This paper will discuss the use of plastic filling analysis and the benefits to the part or mold designer.
