With this issue of ITE Journal looking back at 2016, this month's member column is focusing on not just one individual, but two examples of ITE members' collective efforts to give back to communities in need. Through this year's member column, many of those profiled have shared their passion for helping other people, a driving factor for choosing a career in transportation. Transportation careers give ITE members a chance to improve people's lives every day, putting in place designs, tools, and policies that make it safer and easier for people to reach their daily destinations. With this motivation and desire to help other people, therefore, it is no surprise that many ITE members continue to give back to their communities outside of their workplaces.
