In an interview, Kenn Beer, Beng, MPIA, a member of ITE Australia/New Zealand, talked about enthusiasm for building stronger connections with ITE at an international level. Beer said initially he just happened upon the transport engineering profession. He was studying civil/environmental engineering and knew some great transport engineers at his university. They influenced his decision to get into the field. In 2013, after 13 years as an engineer at VicRoads, he identified there was a large market demand for a specialist road safety engineering consultancy. He became involved in ITE because of colleagues at Vickoads in Australia. He was so energized by the ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl. This isn't something they have in the International District, and he think its something they should look at.
