    Rail grinding strategies on Netherlands Railways - Based on more than 25 years of experience, the conviction of the necessity of preventive rail grinding is strong in The Netherlands. Preventive grinding leads to a significant increase in the service life of rails, a delay in the occurrence of corrugation, and a decrease in traffic noise levels. This article looks at the grinding strategies, past and present, on Netherlands Railways.
