Influence of traffic composition on the capacity of mixed-traffic railway lines This article proposes a mathematical model to assess the probabilistic relationship between the traffic capacity of mixed-traffic double-track railway lines and traffic composition. The traffic capacity is determined from calculating the real running times, which are influenced by the interference occurring among trains travelling at different speeds. A method is proposed to also accommodate homotachic (same speed) traffic
