From the Introduction: AVIRIS is a NASA-sponsored Earth-looking imaging spectrometer designed, built and operated by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Improvements to AVIRIS prior to 1992 have been described previously. In this paper we describe recent and planned improvements to AVIRIS in the sensor task.
