Yaw bias was implemented on most GPS satellites in 1994, and on all Block II satellites by 1995. It was introduced as a way to model the yaw attitude of the GPS satellites during shadow crossings. A yaw attitude model was written to simulate the new satellite attitude during eclipse seasons. Proper use of this model improves the accuracy of precise positioning with the GPS.
