A nonintrusive study of the compressibility effects on dynamic stall of a transiently pitching airfoil is performed. It is found that dynamic stall occurs quickly as the separation bubble bursts. Compressibility lowers the angle of attack at which stall occurs, principally due to unfavorable interaction with the airfoil boundary layer.
