Development of advanced measurement technology for the NASP program is reviewed. The technical need and the program commitment are discussed which are required to ensure that adequate and timely measurement capabilities are provided for ground and flight testing in the NASP program. Particular attention is given to an assessment of the current development status and a perspective on the features of the NASP program that contributed to the current state of instrumentation technology readiness.
