Lunar transportation system (LTS) options to meet defined lunar mission requirements are described. The discussed configuration and scenarios include: ground-based direct launch, ground-based earth orbit rendezvous/dock, and space-based on-orbit assembly. The earth-to-orbit vehicle sizing, operational complexities, and technology phasing of each option are addressed.
