The Cassini spacecraft that will carry out a detailed exploration of the Saturnian system is described. The spacecraft is composed of a Saturn orbiter and a Titan atmospheric probe called Huygens. The scientific objectives and investigations developed for the accommodation phase of the mission are discussed.
