End-loaded, cavity-backed, cross-slot antennas developed for use in mobile/satellite service and other similar commercial services. Intended to transmit and receive in circular polarization at frequencies between 1 and 2 GHz. Fabricated and tuned to operating frequencies easily. Made without end loading or with end loading tailored to obtain various desirable electrical characteristics. Advantages include lower losses, lighter weights, smaller sizes, and greater bandwidths.
