Improved voltage regulator designed for use in solar photovoltaic dc power system utilizing flywheel for energy storage. Includes self-oscillating inductive voltage-boosting circuit, which regulates withdrawal of energy from flywheel and motor/generator when output of solar cells insufficient to maintain load voltage at specified level of 150 Vdc. Features include optical coupling and rapid response.
