This paper examines the experiences of recent actual planetary payload procesing flows. The emphasis is on the processing of the Galileo spacecraft; however, the paper also addresses the Magellan and Ulysses programs to a lesser extent. An overview of the payload processing activity at the Kennedy Space Center is provided. A 'case study' narrative approach is applied to the Space Shuttle flight STS-34 Galileo processing, and some recommendations based on these operations are presented.
