NASA's proposed search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) program is discussed. The receiving antennas and search strategy for SETI are described. The use of a multichannel spectrum analyzer which resolves 8 MHz of spectrum into 8 million individual channels is examined. The CW and pulse detection procedures are analyzed.
