An investigation has been conducted in the Langley V/STOL tunnel to determine the low speed aerodynamic characteristics of a close-coupled canard-wing configuration using spanwise blowing and a vectored-engine-over-wing powered lift concept. The effects of spanwise blowing in conjunction with thrust vectoring are discussed. These effects were studied at M = 0.19 for a range of model angle of attack and engine nozzle pressure ratio. The results indicate combined use of spanwise blowing and thrust vectoring can provide significant performance improvements throughout the angle-of-attack range tested.
