Many of the outstanding Martian topographic features were covered by convergent stereopairs. A method used for their solution is described. An analytical evaluation of a stereopair is based on the principle of relative orientation. It is possible to perform an external relative orientation. The rotational and translational parameters in this case are determined indirectly from orbital and spacecraft data.
