The mission of the Connecticut Department of Transportation(DOT) is to provide a safe and efficient intermodal transportation network that improves the quality of life and promotes economic vitality for the State and the region. DOT is committed to saving lives and preventing injuries by reducing the number and severity of behicular crashes that occur on Connecticut's roadways. The Annual Report contains information on initiatives, projects, accomplishments and financial expenditures of Connecticut's Highway Safety Program for Federal Fiscal Year 2010. Enforcement efforts, coupled with media, public information and education campaigns, and training programs for law enforcement, car seat technicians, motorcycle safety instructors and other safety professionals make up the basis of Highway Safety activity.
