The feasibility of applying the technique of edge restraint rolling to the production of difficult-to-form aerospace materials was demonstrated. Ti-6Al-4V was rolled above, near, and below the beta transus (1900, 1780, and 1650F). Edge cracking was completely eliminated when rolling with restraint and with a protective coating on the edges.
