The LE-5A engine has been now under development for the 2nd stage of H-II launch vehicle. The LE-5A engine is an up-grade version of the LE-5 engine which is used for the H-1 launch vehicle. The LE-5A achieved 12.4 tons thrust and 452 second Isp in vacuum, and its idle mode operation was carried out successfully.
