The proposed project contemplates the construction of a new airport facility at Murdo, South Dakota. The project will include the purchase of land (approximately 85 acres) and navigation easements (to the fifty foot (50') contour elevation); site preparation of the landing strip (150'x4400'), taxiway (50'x150'), apron (150'x300'), aircraft tie down and hangar area (125'x600'), auto parking lot (100'x300') and access road (30'x2000'); construction of hard surfaced runway (50'x3400'), taxiway (30'x200') and apron (150'x165'); gravel surface treat the auto parking lot (100'x300') and access road (approx. 30'x2000'); construction of lighted wind cone and segmented circle; marking of the NW/SE runway and taxiway; lighting of the runway and taxiway; seeding of the disturbed areas; and fencing of the airport property. A brief summary of adverse and beneficial environmental effects is included.
