The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is engaged in various efforts to address shortcomings in energy storage technologies. Batteries remain one of the most reliable, portable methods to provide power where traditional methods are unavailable. Given the types of niche missions NASA performs, batteries must be capable of surviving and performing in widely different environments. This seminar will discuss ongoing efforts across the NASA centers, ranging from low-level materials development through testing for space and aeronautics missions.
