Maintaining the bus services in good condition involve enormous expenditure. In view of the increasing constraints on the resources, a national seminar was organized to discuss the various aspects of economizing the expenditure involved in the operation of bus service. The proceedings contain the various papers presented at the seminar. The topics cover economies in road transport operations, materials and inventory management, fleet management, and planning and operation of traffic.
