The report contains results obtained from a random sample of California drivers, examining the relationship between accidents, gender, and prior accidents or convictions. The report also provides several strategies that attempt to target high-risk drivers for application of the Department's license control actions. Material contained in the report is designed to provide traffic safety administrators with information for developing program and policy decisions. The report is also designed to provide information to the insurance industry and to scholars and researchers in traffic safety.
