The most important engineering properties of stabilized materials are presented together with a brief description of the different types of cementitious stabilizers that are available for the treatment of road construction materials. The advantages and uses of various stabilized materials in practice are discussed and the terms 'modification' and 'cementation' are explained. Laboratory test methods, design methods and design criteria are provided. Construction procedures are recommended, which include comments on quality assurance and the cracking of pavements with cemented layers.
