The paper describes the Avionics Data Acquisition System (ADAS) which is being used for the acquisition of ARINC-429 data for flight-test purposes. It is one of the subsystems of the Fokker/NLR flight-test system MRVS-90. MRVS-90 is the Dutch acronym for the measuring, recording and processing system for the 90s. MRVS-90 including ADAS will be used for future Fokker flight test programes. This paper presents the requirements, functional design, and technical concept of a unique data-acquisition system with high-performance throughout characteristics enabling acquisition and processing of a large number of ARINC-429 input channels at high speed without any loss of data. Due to the modular design the system is adaptable to meet future demands such as a large number of channels, higher time-tag demands, and use of ARINC-629.
