The overall audit objective was to determine whether planning and management were adequate to ensure that mission critical logistics and maintenance systems supporting the Airborne Warning and Control System would not be unduly disrupted by year 2000-related issues. Our audit focused on actions taken to resolve data processing issues regarding year 2000, as well as preparation of plans to prevent year 2000-related system failures that could affect the ability of the Airborne Warning and Control System to perform its mission. We also evaluated logistics and maintenance systems that support weapon systems other than the Airborne Warning and Control System.
