The project is located in Coffee County, on US-441, SR-31 and inside the city of Douglas. The purpose of this project is to provide an urban type roadway through the city to facilitate movement of expected future traffic. A positive impact will be the use of two streets to provide for future traffic, thereby relieving traffic congestion and eliminating some air pollution from slow moving traffic through the central business district. There will be no real adverse effects to this project as it is to be constructed almost wholly within existing rights of way. The construction easements will be grassed to eliminate erosion and easement areas will be returned to the property owners upon completion of the project. Noise and air pollution will not significantly change as these streets are existing and carry considerable truck and auto traffic at present.
