The durability of 28 different thermoplastic road marking materials has been studied using laboratory and field tests. This equipment is considered to be able to simulate the effect that studded tires have on the durability of road markings. Durability in the field has been measured at predetermined intervals during a two-year period with the aid of special measuring equipment. On the basis of the results obtained an evaluation has been made of the validity of the laboratory methods.
