The thirty foot steel utility boat developed by the Coast Guard is a general purpose boat designed to meet service requirements for light rescue work, port security tasks and limited off shore duty. The report sets forth certain operational data procured as a result of a series of comparison tests between steel and wooden thirty foot boats.
